Okazaki hails Leicester spell
Shinji Okazaki says he will look back fondly on his time with Leicester City after playing his final game for the club against Chelsea.
The Japanese forward has enjoyed four years at the King Power Stadium, and was part of the club’s famous 2015-16 side which defied the odds to win the Premier League title.
With the 33-year-old moving on to pastures new this summer, Okazaki says he has loved his time with the Foxes and was happy he could get on the field against Chelsea in the final game of the season.
‘These are good memories,’ Okazaki told LCFC TV.
‘I [will] never forget this day.
I’m proud of the fans and [my] team-mates.
I was happy to play [against Chelsea].
‘When I came for the first time, every Japanese person didn’t know where Leicester was.
Now, everybody knows Leicester City.
‘We are champions, we won the league and we played in the Champions League.
I [had] an exciting four years with the fans and my teammates.’
