Permanent Higuain move not on the table
According to reports, Chelsea will not take up the option to sign on-loan striker Gonzalo Higuain permanently this summer.
Argentina international Higuain joined the Blues on loan for the second half of the season in January, having had his initial loan spell at AC Milan cut short, but the change in scenery has not helped the striker rediscover his best form.
The 31-year-old scored five goals from 14 Premier League appearances, helping Chelsea finish third, but he received criticism for his overall contribution to the team during his time at Stamford Bridge.
With just the Europa League final against Arsenal left to play, it is claimed the contest in Baku will be the last time Higuain is seen in a blue shirt after failing to convince Maurizio Sarri to sanction a move.
The Argentine will return to parent club Juventus this summer and it remains unclear where his future lies beyond the close-season, with the Old Lady looking to offload him.
