Liverpool have reportedly told Rangers that they will need to pay £12million to sign Ryan Kent on a permanent deal.

The 22-year-old joined Rangers on a season-long loan deal last summer and has netted six goals in 26 Scottish Premiership appearances.

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard, who used his contacts at Liverpool to secure the loan, has been impressed with the winger’s exploits and reportedly wants to bring him in permanently.

Kent’s performances saw him win the PFA’s Young Player of the Year award and Liverpool appear willing to let him depart – but only on their terms.

The report from the Liverpool Echo states they would accept a fee of £12million, although Rangers may look to bring that figure down closer to £10million.
