Scott Golbourne signs new two-year deal at Shrewsbury
Full-back Scott Golbourne has committed his future to Shrewsbury after signing a new two-year deal, the League One club has announced.
The 31-year-old, who made 15 appearances for the Shrews after arriving on a short-term contract in January, has persuaded manager Sam Ricketts that he has a continued role to play.
Former Bristol City defender Golbourne told the club’s official website, www.
com: ‘I’m really, really pleased.
It was probably something I started to think about early on really.
‘After coming in January, I was quite surprised at how much I enjoyed working here.
‘It’s a good group of lads, a good set-up with their own training ground and good gym facilities, little pieces like that all add up.
‘It’s definitely a club that can kick on.
‘I think the foundations are in place for the club to compete at a higher level, whether that’s at the top end of this division or the Championship.’
