Kinsella and Devlin handed two-year deals by Walsall
Midfielder Liam Kinsella and defender Nicky Devlin have been offered new two-year contracts by Walsall following the club’s relegation from Sky Bet League One.
Kinsella, who has spent the last five years with the Saddlers, enjoyed his most productive campaign this season, making 39 appearances, although he was unable to help the club avoid the drop.
Devlin, who joined Walsall from Ayr two years ago, played 43 of the club’s 46 league games and is seen as pivotal if the club are to fight for promotion next season.
Long-serving club captain Adam Chambers, who has made 331 appearances over the past eight years – but only one last season after suffering a broken metatarsal in the opening-day win over Plymouth – is ‘in discussions with the club about his future on and off the field’, according to Walsall‘s website.
Eleven players are to be released when their contracts expire at the end of June – Joe Edwards,Kieron Morris,Luke Leahy,Jon Guthrie,Zeli Ismail,Chris Dunn,Jordon Sangha,Tobias Hayles-Docherty,Isaiah Osbourne,Cameron PetersandOmar Mussa.
