PSG linked with bid to lure Chelsea ace away this summer
Chelsea could face a battle to keep hold of N’Golo Kante this summer, following reports Paris Saint-Germain are lining up a swoop.
The Parisians have been chasing a new central midfielder for some time, with Everton’s Idrissa Gueye known to be a top target, but they are now reported to have switched attentions to Kante.
PSG failed with at least one bid to sign Gueye in the January transfer window, and Everton will be delighted to hear they are now targeting a move for Kante instead.
The France international had a frustrating season at Stamford Bridge after boss Maurizio Sarri played him out of position for most of it after handing Jorginho the main holding role in midfield, and he could be tempted to move away.
Much could depend on whether Sarri stays at the club for next season, and whether Chelsea’s transfer ban for the next two windows will stand.
Either way, with Eden Hazard also heavily linked with Real Madrid, Chelsea will be reluctant to let Kante move on and are likely to resist all offers.
