Gillingham tempt Tom Eaves and Tomas Holy to stay with new deals
Striker Tom Eaves and goalkeeper Tomas Holy are among seven players to have been offered new deals by Sky Bet League One Gillingham.
Eaves has been the Gills’ top scorer in each of his two seasons at the club, netting 40 goals in his 97 appearances, while Czech-born Holy has missed just one of the club’s 92 league games over the past two seasons.
It is anticipated, however, Eaves and Holy will move on despite Gillingham’s best attempts to retain the two 27-year-olds.
New deals are also on the table for midfielders Aaron Simpson, Bradley Stevenson, Ben Chapman and Henry Woods, and defender Jack Tucker.
The Gills have confirmed six players are to be released.
Defender Luke O’Neill and midfielder Billy Bingham announced their departures last week, and they will now be joined by defenders Alex Lacey and Ryan Huckle, and young goalkeepers Tom Hadler and Louie Catherall.
