Milan pull plug on midfielder deal
Tiemoue Bakayoko appears to be heading back to Chelsea after it was claimed AC Milan have no intention of pursuing a permanent deal.
The midfielder headed to the San Siro on a season-long loan after being told he does not feature in the plans of Maurizio Sarri at Stamford Bridge, but the move has not gone to plan.
Bakayoko turned his season around following a disappointing start to life with the Rossoneri, and it looked as though a permanent deal could be on the cards, until he had a huge fall-out with Milan boss Gennaro Gattuso.
The breakdown between the pair is beyond repair and Gattuso has no intention of paying out the £35million it would take to sign the player on a permanent basis.
It means Bakayoko will be one of a number of loan players to return to Chelsea, and like the rest, he could be given a chance to win a place in the thoughts of Sarri.
With Chelsea set be under a transfer embargo for the next two transfer windows, it could be a blessing in disguise that Milan have no intention of keeping hold.
