Walsall manager Darrell Clarke appoints new backroom team
New Walsall boss Darrell Clarke has opted for a backroom shake-up as he plans for life in Sky Bet League Two next season.
Clarke, appointed 10 days ago after the Saddlers were relegated from League One, has taken on Marcus Stewart and Brian Dutton as his assistant coaches, with the latter also serving as professional phase development coach.
Both men previously worked with Clarke during his time in charge of Bristol Rovers, with former Sunderland striker Stewart acting as his number two.
Clarke has released first-team coach Andy Davies, goalkeeping coach Michael Oakes and strength and conditioning coach Nick Barnett, along with chief scout Gary Jenkins, who is joining Bradford City.
