Huddersfield Town academy manager Leigh Bromby has piled praise on Kian Harratt after he was named Town Scholar of the Year.

The 16-year-old was presented with his award by England manager Gareth Southgate after a superb campaign.

Harratt has represented both the U17s and U19s this season and is being tipped to have a bright future at the John Smith’s Stadium.

The teenager scored 26 goals in 31 games at U17 level, while he also netted five in 14 for the U19s.

After watching Harratt collect his award at the Premier League Youth Development Conference in London, Bromby paid tribute to the progress he has made.

He told the club’s official website: ‘Kian has excelled this season and really deserves this award.

He’s been an outstanding all season both on and off the pitch.

‘He quickly understood the ethos of this club and has conducted himself in an excellent manner in everything he does.

He is a great role model for all aspiring footballers as he continues to deliver in his college work and on the football pitch.’
