Hammers or Wolves to snuff out Bluebirds’ Camarasa bid
Cardiff’s slim hopes of luring back Victor Camarasa this summer are set to be ended by one of Premier League duo West Ham or Wolves.
The 24-year-old Spanish midfielder enjoyed a successful season-long loan at the Cardiff City Stadium from La Liga outfit Real Betis on a personal level, scoring five goals and providing four assists in 32 Premier League appearances.
Bluebirds boss Neil Warnock had made no secret of his desire to keep Camarasa in South Wales on a permanent basis, but those hopes took a big knock when the side were relegated to the Championship after just one season back in the top flight.
Camarasa has been coy over where his future lies as he prepares to link up with his Real Betis team-mates after a summer break.
However, having proven himself in the Premier League, reports are claiming that both Wolves and West Ham will battle it out to try and get him back to England in the transfer window.
Wolves have Europa League football to look forward to and would possibly be in the driving seat, while Warnock is set to line up alternatives to Camarasa, with Rotherham’s Will Vaulks linked earlier this week.
