Marriott sends out rally cry
Striker Jack Marriott believes Derby are ready to compete in the Premier League ahead of the play-off final with Aston Villa.
The Rams secured their place in the play-offs on the final day of the regular season before defeating Leeds dramatically in the semi-finals.
It’s the fourth time they have finished in the top-six during the last six seasons as they seek a return to the Premier League for the first time since 2007-08.
Marriott, who played a key role in the victory over Leeds, believes Derby are ready for an assault on the Premier League.
‘This is such a good club and is ready for the Premier League,’ Marriott said.
‘I think we deserve it.
We’ve made such a big step in our season to get this far – now let’s finish it off.
‘It would be absolutely incredible.
‘ Derby lost both meetings with Villa during the Championship campaign, but punters using their free bet may want to back them to triumph at the national stadium on Monday.
