Pearson expecting big things from Leicester
Former Leicester boss Nigel Pearson says the club should look forward with optimism with Brendan Rodgers in charge.
Pearson enjoyed two spells as Leicester boss, either side of a year with Hull City in the Championship.
The 55-year-old was eventually sacked in 2015, before Claudio Ranieri came in and led the club to the Premier League title.
He believes the club handled the death of owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha incredibly well and he believes Rodgers will take them towards the top six once again.
‘I was very impressed and felt proud of the club how they dealt with it and everyone supported each other,’ Pearson told Leicestershire Live.
‘Brendan’s appointment is a brilliant one.
It is the perfect one for the club now because maybe there is a need to nudge it in a different direction, while retaining the identity of the football club.
‘Personally, I think they have a realistic chance of breaking into the top six, whatever a realistic chance that is.’
