Mark Beevers signs for Peterborough
Peterborough have announced the signing of defender Mark Beevers on a free transfer from Bolton.
The centre-back will move to the ABAX Stadium on a three-year contract on July 1 when his current deal at the University of Bolton Stadium expires.
Beevers told the Sky Bet League One club’s official website: ‘I am really pleased that everything has been sorted early and I am looking forward to meeting the rest of the squad in pre-season.
‘I hope I can bring my experience and help the team push for the top six of the division.
We want to be successful, we want to push for promotion and hopefully we can achieve that.
I can’t wait to get started.
‘ The 29-year-old has played over 400 matches during his career, which started at Sheffield Wednesday before he moved to Millwall and Bolton, taking in a loan spell at MK Dons.
He made 32 appearances for relegated Championship side Bolton last season and also helped Wanderers gain promotion from League One in 2017.
Peterborough boss Darren Ferguson said: ‘It is a great signing for us.
He is a promotion winner out of this division, so I am delighted to have him on board and look forward to working with him.’
