Tadic reaping the rewards of winter break
Ajax midfielder Dusan Tadic says the winter break this season allowed him to find his best form for the club.
The Serbia international joined the Dutch giants from Southampton last summer and enjoyed the best season of his career.
Tadic scored 28 league goals in just 34 appearances in the Eredivisie as Ajax won the title and he also helped them win the KNVB Beker.
With the Premier League playing on through Christmas, Tadic admits he found a new lease of life at Ajax as he continued to grab the headlines both domestically and in the Champions League, being particularly instrumental in their run to the semi-finals in Europe.
He told Ajax Life: ‘I was not used to that anymore, because you just continue playing in England, but I really needed that.
In addition, I pay close attention to my diet and it also depends on the way of playing.
‘If, like Southampton, you have to defend and fight every week, it is physically tiring.
Our game gave me energy this season.’
