Leverkusen look to lure Laurent
Laurent Koscielny is a summer target for Bayer Leverkusen, Monaco, AC Milan and Rennes, according to reports in France.
L’Equipe claim the Gunners defender has four main suitors for his services as Arsenal prepare to let the 33-year-old leave the Emirates Stadium after nine years at the club.
The France international, who has one year left on his contract, started less than half of Arsenal’s Premier League matches this season for the first time in his career.
The Gunners are reportedly looking to sell several players whose contracts are winding down in a bid to avoid a similar catalogue of errors to that which led to Aaron Ramsey leaving on a free transfer.
The French sports newspaper says Bayer Leverkusen are in the driving seat for his signature, while Rennes and AC Milan have also reached out to the defender’s camp.
The Serie A club’s chief executive is ex-Arsenal CEO Ivan Gazidis but he is not in direct control of hiring players.
Koscielny is set to play his 405th game for the club in the Europa League final against Chelsea on May 29.
