No fear for Marcelino
Valencia boss Marcelino says his side will not shy away from taking the game to Barcelona in Saturday’s Copa del Rey final.
The pair clash in Seville with Los Che aiming for their first major trophy since winning this competition under Ronald Koeman in 2008.
After a tough first half to the campaign, Valencia came good after Christmas and managed to reach the semi-finals of the Europa League, before sealing fourth place in La Liga.
Beating Barca for the first time in five Copa meetings would be a fitting end to the season and the Blaugrana’s recent sluggish form suggests there is a chance to get at them.
Marcelino believes his team have nothing to lose in Andalusia and has challenged them to play without fear.
He told reporters: ‘It is an ideal moment because it is a final.
‘We have made it to the Champions League.
We are going with all the enthusiasm.
With courage and courage to win this final and give it to the fans.’
