Sunderland owner Donald targets 100 points for promotion next season
Sunderland owner Stewart Donald is targeting 100 points to ensure promotion from League One next season.
Amid the aftermath of Sunday’s heart-breaking play-off final defeat by Charlton at Wembley, Donald has challenged manager Jack Ross and his players to leave nothing to chance as they prepare to embark upon a second bid to return to the Sky Bet Championship.
Speaking to the Roker Rapport podcast, he said: ‘No one has not made mistakes.
I’ve made mistakes, I’m sure Jack will turn around and say he’s made mistakes, I’m sure the players will.
‘The question is, have we made too many? Are we making the same ones continually? Are we learning from where we’re going wrong? Are we realistic about really where we were? ‘We’ve actually got to dissect all of that and turn around and say, ‘What are we going to do to make sure that we get or aim for 100 points next year?’, because we’re sure that 100 points is going to get us up.
‘We’ve got to be as sure as damn that we can be that we’re going to get 100 points.’
