Ashley Nadesan swaps Fleetwood for Crawley
Crawley have announced the signing of Fleetwood striker Ashley Nadesan on a three-year contract, which begins on July 1.
The 24-year-old began his career with nearby non-league Horley Town before his goalscoring exploits alerted the attention of Fleetwood, who signed him in July 2016.
Nadesan played just one league game for Fleetwood before joining Carlisle on loan for the second half of the 2017-18 season and again in the first half of this season, scoring 13 goals in 43 appearances during the two spells.
He returned to the Cod Army in January and went on to play 20 times for Joey Barton’s side, but he has decided to move closer to home after Fleetwood announced contract talks had ended earlier on Friday.
Crawley head coach Gabriele Cioffi told the club’s official website: ‘Wow.
I’m delighted to have Ashley with us.
He can play in wide positions or up front and he is a goal threat.
‘I think he can play a major part for us next season and beyond, and I am really looking forward to working with Ashley.
I am pleased he is now part of the Crawley Town family.’
