Rangers the only home for Candeias
Daniel Candeias says he hasn’t thought about leaving Rangers as he looks to help the club end their Premiership title drought.
The Portuguese was key to boss Steven Gerrard’s plans in his first season in charge but could lose his place in the team following the arrival of Jordan Jones and Jake Hastie.
The Light Blues are expected to strengthen further before the new season gets underway as Gerrard prepares for another crack at both the Premiership and Europa League.
Despite no longer being guaranteed a place in the starting line-up, Candeias is up for the fight, while he says he has a burning desire to help Rangers end Celtic’s dominance of Scottish football.
He said: ‘We improved from last season to this, we had a good campaign in the Europa League.
Individually I think it was another good season without injuries and 52 games.
I’m glad I did, we can always do more, but overall I’m happy.
‘I always have to do better than the previous season.
‘That’s about winning titles because a club like Rangers lives with it and those fans deserve it for the support they always give.
That is my main goal, to help the club.’
