Ten Hag set for Ajax stay
Ajax have reportedly rejected by an approach from Roma for their head coach Erik ten Hag.
Roma are currently searching for a new manager following the departure of Claudio Ranieri, who took charge of the Giallorossi in March until the end of last season after the sacking of Eusebio Di Francesco.
The Serie A outfit, who had to settle for a Europa League finish last term, are believed to have put Ten Hag top of their list of candidates and were hoping to start negotiations with the 49-year-old.
However, Ajax, who reached the Champions League semi-finals in the previous campaign, have turned down Roma’s advances as they look to keep hold of the Dutch tactician.
It is unclear whether Roma will make a second approach for Ten Hag although it is unlikely they will be able to tempt Ajax into letting their manager leave.
That rejection means the Giallorossi’s list has been cut down to just two candidates, those being Sassuolo manager Roberto De Zerbi and Shakhtar Donetsk boss Paulo Fonseca.
