Graham Carey leaves Plymouth for CSKA Sofia
Plymouth midfielder Graham Carey has joined Bulgarian club CSKA Sofia after turning down a new deal at Home Park.
Carey, 30, who made nearly 200 appearances during four seasons at Plymouth, has signed a two-year contract with CSKA.
‘Despite an improved offer to remain at Home Park, Graham Carey has decided to move on to another challenge,’ Argyle said on Twitter.
CSKA announced the signing of Carey on their official website, adding:’Now part of the club is Irishman Graham Carey, who initiates a two-year contract with the Reds.
‘ Carey joined Plymouth on a free transfer from Ross County in 2015 and also had a spell at St Mirren.
He scored 49 goals in 197 appearances for Plymouth in all competitions.
The Pilgrims, relegated to Sky Bet League Two, appointed Ryan Lowe as the club’s new manager last week after sacking Derek Adams in April.
