Reds great talks up Henderson influence
Liverpool great Jan Molby believes the Reds will only realise how important Jordan Henderson is to the side when he leaves Anfield.
Henderson enjoyed a superb season leading the Merseysiders last term, with the highlight being the Champions League final win over Tottenham to secure the club’s sixth European crown.
Molby, who made 292 appearances for the club between 1984 and 1995, has been full of praise for the England midfielder and feels the skipper’s influence will only be fully realised when he’s gone.
‘It’s often overlooked how important these people are,’ Molby told Liverpoolfc.com.
‘But at Liverpool Football Club we’re very proud of our history and if you go through all of the great teams, we can all name the great players – but [also] the ones who were there every week, produced every week that, through history, become great players.
‘Once Jordan is gone, people will look at the void that he leaves and think, ‘Oh wow’.’
