Bluebirds outcast O’Keefe joins Gills on two-year deal
Midfielder Stuart O’Keefe has been snapped up by Gillingham on a two-year contract after his recent exit from Cardiff.
The 28-year-old, who was released by the Bluebirds earlier this month, is the League One club’s fourth summer signing following the arrivals of Connor Ogilvie, Jack Bonham and Lee Hodson.
The former Southend and Crystal Palace man signed for Cardiff in January 2015, scoring two goals in 45 appearances and also spent time on loan at MK Dons, Portsmouth and Plymouth.
O’Keefe told Gillingham’s official website: ‘For me, Gillingham presents a great opportunity to try and achieve something.
Steve Evans is very competitive and has been very successful with Crawley, Rotherham and then at Peterborough.
‘I live locally and it presents a chance for me to settle down and concentrate on my football.
I’m now looking forward to meeting my team-mates and enjoying a good pre-season.’
