Bowden appointed to Oldham board as fans’ representative
Oldham have appointed Richard Bowden to the club’s board of directors as a fans’ representative.
Lifelong Latics supporter Bowden’s appointment is subjectto the English Football League’s fit and proper person test.
‘Supporting Latics up and down the country has been a passion of mine since my grandad and dad first introduced me to Andy Barlow, Roger Palmer and a half-time Bovril,’ Bowden told the club’s official website.
‘So, whilst I know this is going to be a challenging role, I’m very excited to be asked to bring some of my expertise and business know-how as we try to build the club in line with the vision (chairman) Abdallah (Lemsagam) has outlined.
‘ Bowden has over 20 years’ experience as a senior manager in the banking and financial services sector.
Oldham appointed Laurent Banide as their new manager on Wednesday.
The Frenchman is a permanent replacement for Paul Scholes, whoquit the Sky Bet League Two club in March – just 31 days into an 18-month contract.
