Cardiff chairman Mehmet Dalman is reportedly in advanced takeover talks with their soon-to-be Championship rivals Charlton.

Dalman was originally named as chairman of the Bluebirds back in 2013 and he is believed to be a popular figure at the Cardiff City Stadium, acting as the link between manager Neil Warnock and owner Vincent Tan.

However, it appears the former investment banker is now keen to be an owner in his own right and he has been locked in negotiations with Charlton for quite some time.

Current Charlton owner Roland Duchatelet is known to be keen to sell the south London club and it is believed talks are at an advanced stage.

In the meantime, Dalman is continuing his day-to-day work at Cardiff and he is playing an active role in their preparations for the 2019-20 campaign.

The 61-year-old is also known to have a close working relationship with Warnock and there will be one or two concerns amongst Cardiff’s supporters that their manager’s future could also soon be called into question.
