Everton join race to sign wing ace from France
Everton are keeping tabs on Lorient winger Alexis Claude-Maurice with a view to making a summer swoop.
The 21-year-old had an impressive season in the second tier of French football, Ligue 2, when firing home 14 goals and providing a further four assists from the wing.
Such performances led to interest from England with both West Ham United and Arsenal heavily linked with a swoop for the player.
It has been suggested that the Hammers have already offered £10million for the player, but a deal has yet to be agreed, and that could leave the door open for the Toffees.
Reports in France claim that Everton have entered the race and are ready to rival West Ham for the player’s services, with a bidding war potentially on the cards.
Boss Marco Silva is looking to revamp his squad during the close season and Claude-Maurice looks to be on his list of possible targets.
