Hudson-Odoi looks for assurances
Chelsea star Callum Hudson-Odoi wants assurances from the club before he puts pen to paper on any new deal at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea are in something of a state of flux as they wait to see who will be in charge next season, with Maurizio Sarri expected to leave and head back to Italy.
Talks about a new five-year deal for the 18-year-old are continuing behind the scenes but he wants assurances that he will be a regular first-team player in the future before he signs – and they are unlikely to mean much unless coming from the new manager.
Even then he could be promised regular faction but then lose his form and be replaced in the side.
A ruptured Achilles is set to keep him out of the side until September at the earliest and will prevent any move this summer, but he apparently has indicated he is not prepared to sign a new deal until he has guarantees about his future role at Stamford Bridge.
The 18-year-old winger has a year left to run on his present deal and there will be no shortage of takers if he were to become available, with Bayern Munich leading the way.
