Cherries star sets sights on best ever season
Adam Smith is hoping Bournemouth can keep their squad together and challenge for their highest ever Premier League finish next season.
The Cherries finished ninth in 2016/17 but looked on course to beat that last season, before suffering a raft of injuries to key players that resulted in them having to settle for 14th.
Bournemouth face a challenge of a different kind this summer, keeping hold of their star players, and Smith believes their best season yet could be on the cards if they can.
‘We have been in the Premier League for four seasons now.
We do not want to be one of those teams who are just happy to be in mid-table,’ he said.
‘If we have a fully fit squad and keep a lot of competition in each position and, maybe, add a few this summer, then hopefully we can challenge for the top seven or top eight.
‘You want to keep your best players and hopefully we do and also add some players as well.
Hopefully, next season is better for us.’
