Gunners defender wanted in Rome in cut-price deal
Arsenal defender Calum Chambers could be heading to Serie A side Lazio for just £12.5million, the Italian press are claiming.
The 24-year-old has struggled to make an impact the Emirates Stadium since joining the Gunners from Southampton in a £16million deal back in 2014, and spent last season on loan at Fulham.
Chambers went on to impress despite the Cottagers being relegated from the Premier League and picked up the club’s player of the season award.
That has still not convinced Arsenal to keep hold for next season, but his performances did catch the eye of Lazio, who are keen to take him to Rome.
Rome based publication Il Messaggero says the Biancocelesti are keen to draft in a new versatile defender and have put Chambers high on their list of targets.
The same report also claims that Lazio believe they can land the player for just £12.
5million, which would represent something of a bargain in this day and age.
