Newport sign defender Stojsavljevic on two-year deal
Newport manager Michael Flynn is looking forward to the aggression new signing Lazar Stojsavljevic will bring to his side.
The 21-year-old defender, released by Millwall after playing for their under-23s, has signed a two-year deal and Flynn expects him to improve competition within the squad.
‘Lazar has had a good grounding at Millwall where they are used to playing proper football,’ he told newport-county.co.uk.
‘He’s an aggressive defender, 6ft 3in, left-footer who is going to bring a lot of good competition for places and balance to the squad.
‘ Stojsavljevic, who started his career at National League South side Woking, is relishing his chance to challenge for first-team football.
‘For those who might not know me, I am an aggressive central-defender with a big will to win,’ he said.
‘I’m fresh from my time at Millwall where I trained with quality players.
I can’t wait to get started.’
