Barca first team the target for Wague
Young right-back Moussa Wague is hoping to use the Africa Cup of Nations to force his way into the Barcelona first team.
The 20-year-old featured mainly for Barca’s B team last season, making just three La Liga appearances and one in the cup for the big boys.
The former Eupen defender is on international duty with Senegal this summer as the Lions of Teranga look to secure the prestigious trophy over the coming weeks.
He will then return to Spain for next season and, having trained with Valverde’s squad towards the end of last term, now wants a piece of the action on a regular basis.
‘When I return in August I want to train and play with the team,’ he told Marca.
‘I’ll keep fighting until I get it.
I have the Africa Cup of Nations and pre-season to show myself.
Hopefully, everything goes well.’
