Canaries facing nightmare Premier League start
With the fixtures for the new Premier League campaign released, Championship winners Norwich know the full extent of their early-season challenge.
The Canaries could not have been handed a tougher start to the season, with Daniel Farke’s men facing three of last season’s top six in the first five weeks.
Those punters looking for the best odds will note that Norwich kick-off the new campaign with a trip to Anfield on August 9 to face last season’s runners-up Liverpool – who are unbeaten in their last 12 clashes with Norwich (10 wins and two draws).
The Canaries then play host to Newcastle in their first home game on August 19 – their last meeting in East Anglia finished 2-2 back in 2017.
Then on August 24 there is another Carrow Road encounter when Europa League winners Chelsea are the visitors.
Their final match of the month is a trip to the capital, with the London Stadium the venue for a clash with West Ham on August 31.
Following an international break, things don’t get any easier for Farke’s team as Manchester City are the visitors to Carrow Road on September 14.
