Rangers close in on Liverpool youngster Ojo
Liverpool winger Sheyi Ojo is reportedly on the verge of joining Rangers on a season-long loan.
England Under-21 international Ojo is highly regarded at Anfield although he has failed to show his true potential during his temporary spells away, having had loans at Wigan, Wolves, Fulham and Reims.
However, Rangers boss Steven Gerrard knows all about the winger, having trained with him towards the back end of his playing days with Liverpool, and the Three Lions’ former skipper is ready to take a chance on him.
Reports are claiming the 21-year-old, who has made eight senior appearances for the Reds, has travelled to Glasgow to undergo a medical and a deal will be wrapped up over the coming days.
Ojo will become the Gers’ fifth signing of what has already been a busy summer, with Jordan Jones, Greg Stewart, Steven Davis and Jake Hastie all joining on free transfers.
It is not thought the loan for Ojo includes a purchase option as Liverpool feels he has a bright future on Merseyside.
