Blackburn Rovers manager Tony Mowbray admits Norwich defender Grant Hanley is in his thoughts but not a priority this summer.

Hanley, 27, is two years into a four-year deal with the Canaries but his future at Carrow Road is up in the air.

Daniel Farke gave him only nine outings in the Championship last season and it is open to debate as to the game time he will enjoy with Norwich now back in the Premier League.

It seems as though the Scotland international stopper is behind Timm Klose, Ben Godfrey and Christoph Zimmermann and a move away from East Anglia might suit all parties concerned.

Rovers are in the market for defenders but Mowbray, while admitting that Hanley’s name has been mentioned, confessed that he is just one of a number of players up for discussion, ‘We talk about lots of players,’ he told The Lancashire Telegraph.

‘We have spoken about centre halves and looking to add to our options and I’m not saying there’s nothing in it.

‘We have lists of players, A, B, C and you don’t really want them getting out, not that they should worry about that, because it might be because the player is too expensive for us, or them not being available.

‘But as time goes on that situation might change.

I don’t know how many games Grant Hanley played last season but I’m sure it wasn’t enough for his liking.

‘He is a player we have talked about but is not at the forefront of our minds.’
