Mark van Bommel has admitted that Steven Bergwijn could leave PSV Eindhoven this summer if rivals Ajax ‘pay the right price’.

The Eredivisie champions’ director Marc Overmars has already expressed a desire to take the 21-year-old Netherlands international winger to the Johan Cruyff ArenA in this transfer window, but PSV are reluctant to offload a key player to their direct rivals.

However, Van Bommel has broken his silence to suggest that Bergwijn, who scored 15 goals in 41 appearances last season, could leave if Ajax meet their valuation.

He told VoetbalPrimeur: ‘We don’t want to sell him to Ajax.

Look, if Ajax comes, and they pay the right price, then he will no doubt leave.

‘ Manchester United and Inter Milan have also been linked with a move for Bergwijn and PSV would no doubt prefer it he joined one of those clubs.
