Oxford snap up Alex Rodriguez Gorrin
Oxford have signed Spanish midfielder Alex Rodriguez Gorrin on a two-year contract.
Gorrin, who grew up in Tenerife before starting his career in Sunderland’s youth system and then playing in Australia, Portugal, and Romania, made 24 appearances for Motherwell last season.
After rejecting a new contract with Well, Gorrin told the club’s website: ‘I saw what Oxford are building as a club, spoke to the manager (Karl Robinson) and knew this was a good club to come to.
‘ United have an option on Gorrin’s contract for a further year.
Assessing the 25-year-old, Robinson said:’There was a fair amount of interest from a lot of clubs.
‘That doesn’t surprise me because he was highly impressive last season and really caught the eye.
‘He is a real competitor and a terrific athlete.
He loves a challenge, is a good tackler and we think will be a very good player for us.’
