Sane talk excites Bayern star
Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski says the squad are looking forward to playing alongside Leroy Sane.
The Bavarians are in a transitional summer after the departures of Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben and the board appear to have identified Sane as their preferred candidate as Ribery’s successor on the left.
Bayern have though baulked at Manchester City’s proposed £100m asking price but with the 23-year-old out of the starting XI at the Etihad, he could be keen to return to Germany.
Big clubs have a habit of getting some of their players to help move their business along through the media and Lewandowski looks to have taken his turn after similar comments by Leon Goretzka earlier in the week.
The Polish striker believes the former Schalke man would be a superb addition, an opinion he says is reflected throughout the squad.
‘Bayern’s German players are now very much looking forward to Sane’s signing,’ Lewandowski said.
‘But we have to wait and see what is going on.’
