Boothroyd backs Solanke to shine
England Under-21 boss Aidy Boothroyd says Dominic Solanke will come good after a slow start to the European Championships.
The Cherries star started England’s opening game of the tournament against France, with the Three Lions losing 2-1 in stoppage time.
Solanke was replaced in the 71st minute of the contest and he could now drop to the bench for the clash with Romania in Cesena.
While he has been criticised by some sections of the press, Boothroyd believes the 21-year-old will soon find his touch in front of goal.
He told the Daily Echo: ‘He is a huge player for us.
He is a really talented guy and I am glad he has got his career going again.
I think he will do really well at Bournemouth.
‘We think an awful lot of him and I have done for a number of years.
‘He is very calm, he is very composed, he is very talented and he will get goals, I am sure.
He certainly has done for us and he has done very well.’
