PSV Eindhoven boss Mark Van Bommel insists the ball is in Arjen Robben’s court as to whether he joins the Eredivisie club this summer.

Robben is set to depart Bayern Munich when his contract expires at the end of the month after 10 successful seasons with the Bavarians.

The former Netherlands winger won eight Bundesliga titles plus the 2012-2013 Champions League, making 309 appearances in all competitions and scoring 144 goals.

However, his game time has reduced significantly in recent years due to a series of niggling injuries and it was thought he might hang up his boots after leaving the Allianz Arena.

However, that is not the case as the former Chelsea man wants to play on and Van Bommel has made no secret of his desire to bring him to Philips Stadion.

He told Voetbal: (I’ve made ) more than one call indeed.

He has to make the decision, that is very simple.

‘He knows that we would like to have him there and now we have to give him the time to make a choice about it.’
