Lameiras swaps Plymouth for Portuguese top flight new boys
Ruben Lameiras has left Plymouth to join Portuguese Primera Liga new-boys FC Famalicao.
The 24-year-old, who was offered a new contract by the Pilgrims, has signed a four-year contract back in his homeland.
Famalicao were recently promoted as runners-up to Pacos de Ferreira in Liga Pro, the Portuguese second division.
Lameiras told his new club’s website: ‘I’m pleased to return to my country because it was a goal to play in the Primera Liga.
‘I think I’m going to adapt very well to Portuguese football.
Famalicao is managed by ambitious people, like me.’
