Potts eager to get going after injury
Preston midfielder Brad Potts says he is looking forward to the upcoming campaign after working hard in his injury recovery.
Former England Under-19 international Potts made the switch to Deepdale from Barnsley in January and made an impressive start with his new employers, scoring two goals from 10 Championship appearances.
However, the 24-year-old’s season was brought to a premature end when he limped out of the win over Birmingham in March with a knee injury and was forced to undergo an operation that saw him miss the last couple months.
Potts has been working hard during his rehabilitation to be ready for pre-season and he can’t wait to get back on the pitch in preparation for the 2019/20 campaign.
‘It has been a strange summer,’ he told PNE.Com.
‘It has been my first one where I have had to come in due to injury, which has been frustrating, but in the last couple of weeks I have been running and trying to push on and be ready for pre-season.
‘I need to be as fit as I can.
Make sure my knee is right and then be fit to go.
Jacko [Matt Jackson, club physio] has put me through my paces and it is good to come in and I feel like I focus more in that environment.’
