McBurnie gets good feeling from new Swans boss
Scottish striker Oli McBurnie has said he is ‘ready to go’ under new Swansea City boss Steve Cooper next season.
The 23-year-old has been linked to Premier League duo Sheffield United and Brighton and Hove Albion – now managed by ex-Swans man Graham Potter.
But Swansea reportedly want £15million for the signature of the striker who scored 24 goals in all competitions for them last season.
McBurnie has already reported for training ahead of the new Championship campaign and has spoken positively about the new man in the hotseat at the Liberty Stadium.
He told WalesOnline: ‘Obviously the gaffer has changed over the summer, I spoke to him on Tuesday – I came in to do a bit of running – and he seems positive.
‘He has got his own ideas, but he does not want to come in to rip everything out.
He said we had a good season last year, but we are young players who have had a full season in first-team football and it is time to build on that.
I agreed with everything he said, and it got me really excited and ready to go.
‘It’s exciting to be back in and see the boys and those friendly faces.
I was sat there last night and it’s like the first day of school.
I’ve been back in Swansea for a couple of weeks and I’ve been sitting around waiting to get ready to go.’
