Laurie Walker returns to MK Dons on free transfer
MK Dons have signed their former academy goalkeeper Laurie Walker on a free transfer.
Walker returns to the club where he began his career at the age of 16 and joins Lee Nicholls and Stuart Moore in the fight for a first-team place under boss Paul Tisdale.
‘It’s a massive achievement, it’s always nice to go full circle and come back to the place where it all started out for me,’ Walker, 29, told the official MK Dons website.
‘I actually worked here as an academy coach when I first dropped out of full-time football, so I’ve got a real tie with the club.
‘It’s nice to be able to come back in a playing capacity and really help and try to push this team forward in the right direction as well.
‘ Walker, who has spent two years at Hemel Hempstead, had played for Cambridge and Morecambe and also trained regularly with the Dons over the past few seasons.
He left the Dons in July 2009 at the end of his scholarship period.
