Millwall have completed the transfer of Iceland striker Jon Dadi Bodvarsson from Reading on a long-term contract.

The 27-year-old has been recruited for an undisclosed fee and is the club’s fifth signing of the summer.

Seven goals in 20 appearances for Reading last season brought Bodvarsson to the attention of Lions boss Neil Harris.

The former Kaiserslautern marksman was a member of the Iceland squad that reached the quarter-finals of Euro 2016 and has 41 caps.

‘I have known about Millwall‘s interest in me for quite a while now,’ he told Millwall’s official website.

‘I’m just really happy that it is finally finalised and I’m excited to crack on, meet with the lads and start the work.

‘I like to think I’m an honest player – hard-working and more of a team player than an individual.

I like to score a lot of goals and work hard for the team.’
