Griezmann up for ‘challenge’ of winning ‘everything’ at Barca
Antoine Griezmann is ‘excited’ to finally secure his move to Barcelona and wants to ‘win everything’ with the Catalan giants.
Barca released a statement on Friday to confirm that the 28-year-old had joined them from La Liga rivals Atletico Madrid after they paid the 120million euros buyout clause to secure his signature.
The France international, who scored 133 goals from 257 appearances in all competitions for Atletico, having joined them from Real Sociedad in 2014, was then unveiled at a press conference on Saturday afternoon.
And speaking about his switch to Barca, a delighted Griezmann said: ‘I am very, very happy to be here and excited to start.
I am eager to get started and work with the group.
‘There will be new challenges and I want to win everything – the League, the Copa and the Champions League.
‘ He added: ‘It was a difficult decision to leave Atletico, but you have to make these decisions.
It has been a joy to play against Lionel Messi in the past, and I know I want to experience that every day in training.
‘I am at a great club and I am looking forward to the future.’
