Valencia stopper Murillo secures Sampdoria move
Sampdoria have completed the signing of defender Jeison Murillo from Valencia in a deal worth around 15 million euros.
The 27-year-old Colombia international has been in limbo at Los Che having been allowed to spend last season on loan at Barcelona, where he made just four appearances.
Barca boss Ernesto Valverde susbequently decided against making the move permanent and Murillo was told that he was not in the plans of Valencia coach Marcelino.
A number of clubs expressed an interest in signing Murillo but it seems Sampdoria have won the race to take him to Italy’s Serie A.
The former Inter Milan stopper is poised to move on a season-long loan deal worth two million euros with Samp set to make the move permanent next summer for another 13m euros.
