Musa wants third place
Nigeria winger Ahmed Musa says the Super Eagles are focused on finishing the Africa Cup of Nations on a high and claiming third place.
Nigeria were beaten 2-1 by Algeria in Sunday’s semi-final and now have to prepare for the third-place play-off against Tunisia on Wednesday.
Musa has admitted losing in the last four was tough to take but they must now try to rouse themselves for one more game as they aim to secure third place in the tournament.
‘The game (against Algeria) was difficult for us,’ the Al-Nassr man told reporters.
‘We expected it to be a tough one for us, unfortunately we lost.
We don’t have to give up.
We have some young players in the team.
‘We just have to put our heads up and win the next game.
‘ Nigeria’s run to the semis this year is their best performance at the AFCON since winning the competition in 2013 and they will now aim to take third place for eighth time in their history.
Punters looking to use a free free bet may want to back Nigeria to see off Tunisia in the third place play-off.
