Vertonghen plans Tottenham stay
Jan Vertonghen says he has no intention of leaving Tottenham this summer and has indicated he would be open to a new deal.
The Belgian defender is due to fall out of contract next summer and says he isn’t interested in a new challenge just yet.
The 32-year-old has previously suggested he would be open to remaining with Spurs beyond next summer and remains relaxed over his future despite entering the final year of his deal.
Vertonghen says he enjoys working with manager Mauricio Pochettino and feels he has improved under the Argentine’s guidance.
‘I’ve got a year left, I will have to see what happens,’ he told reporters.
‘I love being here.
I feel great with the manager, he’s been supporting me and making me a better player.
‘I’ve got everything I want.
It’s the best club to play for at the moment.’
