Oldham have announced the signing of striker Scott Wilson from Macclesfield on a free transfer.

The 26-year-old joined the Silkmen in 2017 from National League side Eastleigh and helped Macclesfield return to the Football League.

Wilson, who has agreed a one-year deal, scored 23 times in 60 appearances while at Moss Rose and was the club’s top goal scorer for the past two seasons.

‘Very happy to sign for Oldham, can’t wait to get the new campaign underway!’ Wilson posted on his social media accounts.

‘I would like to thank the players, staff and most importantly fans of Macclesfield Town FC who have supported us throughout the ups and the downs! ‘Had a great 2 years with mixed emotions none better than being a champion.

I wish the club all the very best for the future!’
